Favourite beauty products of 2013 TAG

I have been thinking about what I was going to include in this tag for a while and I thought I would take my own approach to it because sometimes, in certain categories, it got difficult to narrow it down to one product. The categories will be; lip products, setting spray, eye products, cheek products, skin care products. So each category will not have a fixed number but just include products that I completely recommend and that I use a lot! I hope that this is useful or just enjoyable to see! I had so much fun making this tag as much as I have been reading others! Enjoy!

 Lip products

1. Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner
I recommend a lot of Blistex products especially for dry, cracked and irritated lips. During winter time it is normal for our lips to become dry, but to prevent them from cracking and then becoming sore moisturising our lips is essential! This lip conditioner is very smooth and keeps long lasting moisture in your lips throughout the day! When it comes down to scent, everyone one will have different opinions but personally I love the scent! I have found it difficult to describe the smell becauseI have never smelt anything like it. it smells creamy and sweet with a hint of mint.

2. MUA sweet kiss lip balm
MUA can be found at superdrug if you are in the UK, which I am aware that it is unfortunately not available everywhere. Apologies! But if you have a superdrug near by, dash down and pick up one of these luxurious lip balms. Highly moisturising and not sticky which can be irritating with some lip balms! What is the best part about it? The price! It's only £2! They do various shades too which I am surely getting soon. This shade looks great paired with the Mac Viva Glam Gaga lipstick.
Hey guess what? For you One Direction fans, MUA has limited edition one direction makeup out at the moment!

3. Bourjois Effect 3D MAX: shade 63 rose elait
A gorgeous rose pink gloss with fine golden glitter. I usually use it the centre of the lip and it create a beautiful sheen to your lip. It is extremely moisturising and not sticky. It is long lasting so you don't have to apply it very often, which is useful when you just want to have a good time! The only downfall to this lipgloss, is the applicator. This is down to personal preference so you may love this idea. It is lemon shaped and plastic, the plastic is the negative for me, it is not very easy to apply the gloss. Apart from this I love this product and also pairs nicely with the lipstick.

4. Mac lustre lipstick: Viva Glam Gaga
This is my second purchase of this lipstick, and I use it for my everyday lip look. I always apply a lip balm before using a lipstick, as some are drying for the lips. This lipstick however is a lustre, which means it is more creamy and moisturising than a matte. The colour payoff is great, it can be shear or bold in colour.

Eye Products

Mascara
L'Oréal volume million lashes
I have this mascara in black and brown and I reccomend both, I personally use black a lot more as I prefer a more defined looking eye. Both give amazing length to your lashes and just the right amount of thickness, not leaving any clumps. It is easy to apply and the wand ensures there are no clumps. This mascara doesn't smudge throughout the day (we all know how it can travel down your eye and make you look like you have been crying!)

Eyeliner
At the moment I have been loving making my own eyeliner. Mixing some of Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray with any eyeshadow of your choice. This is great because for someone with a love of eyeshadows I have a lot, and instead of buying various eyeliners of all shades using my eyeshadows and some spray works great, and it's really easy to do too! I spray a pea size amount of the setting onto a surface, then dip the tip of my eyeliner brush into the liquid then dip it into the eyeshadow and it is then ready to apply to the eye. Another great thing about this method is that it last all day because it has the setting spray already in it!

Eyeshadows
In this section, I thought I would include my most worn eye look. I recommend all of these shadows individually so this look can be altered to create your own style.
Urban Decay Naked 2 : Bootycall - Can be found here
Mac: Amber Lights - Can be found here
Mac: Swiss Chocolate - Can be found here

If you haven't got Mac: Amber Lights then a good match for this from the Urban Decay Naked 2 is Half-Baked. So if you do have this palette there isn't any need for you to buy amber lights.

Setting spray

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
I've only ever tried setting spray but never purchased one until I tried this! It literally makes your makeup last all night! The liquid does not feel sticky or cakey, it not only makes your makeup last but it makes it look better giving your face a fresh finish. It doesn't take long to dry so if you are in a rush it's very quick! The spray bottle is easy to use so there is no fuss, and a perfect amount is released, recommend to spray 3 times. each side of the face, and then your T-zone.

Cheeks

Setting powder
MAC: Mineralisr Skinfinish Natural- Medium Plus
This powder is used everyday as a setting powder. Its a perfect match for my skin tone and I love it. It is very light on the skin, and doesn't look cakey. If I get oily throughout the day I will touch up with this powder, and no matter the amount you apply it still doesn't look cakey! I use it to make my skin more matte, but I still like it to glow and look healthy. This MSFN is great for this.

Bronzer
ELF: warm bronzer, golden bronzer.
Recently I have been using two ELF bronzers a lot, switching between them both. The shades are golden, and warm. I have previously had the shade warm before and have re-purchased it after using it all. As the products from ELF are so cheap I also bought golden to try it out. I love both, the shade warm is definitely a lot darker but gives you a bronzed look. However the shade golden has a lot more sheen, but gives a sun kissed look.

Blush
MAC: Margin Powder Blush
This is a beautiful blush and it holds a good memory because I first wore this blush at my prom! (Aawwh!) I would explain the colour as rose gold but with more peachy pink. It's a frost finish so it gives a gorgeous glow to the skin. It blends really nicely and has brilliant pigmentation. I adore this blush and I wear it on a daily bases.

Highlighter
Sleek: Face Contour Kit- Light
This product has 2 products in 1! The bronzer isn't the best as it is quite dark for the shade light and you have to be careful when applying it, as it is very easy to become 'muddy'. But if you do not mind the fuss and you are able to control the amount used then it is fine! But it's not everyday we can be bothered with the fuss. Anyway... Onto the highlight. I would explain this highlight as a powder version of benefits high beam. Liquid highlighters can be hard to use for some people, so if you want the look but prefer powdered highlighters then maybe give this one a try. It is a pinky toned highlight which can be very flattering as well as natural looking. If you go to a Boots or Superdrug, you can always test the products before buying them!

Skin care

Cetaphil: Skin Cleanser and Moisturising Lotion
After using these products for a year now, I feel that I have got my full opinion of what I think about them. I feel that both of these products are very good for sensitive skin, they have no harsh fragrances. Especially good for acne or blemish prone skin, I highly recommend them. For either normal/dry/oily/combination skin, I think that this will be appropriate for all. During winter my skin gets terribly dry, and oily during summer. The lotion balances it out to normal. I love these products!

Simple: Kind To Skin Facial Wipes
I usually choose not to remove my makeup with facial wipes and instead use my Cetaphil routine. When I stay out, or want to freshen my face I always use these wipes. There is no artificial perfumes or colour, alcohol, or oils. Which makes it kind for the skin (as the name suggests!) they are very smooth on the skin, and it removes all of my makeup.

Brushes

In this section I could mention so many brushes that I have but I only want to pick a couple that I have loved over the past year that I noticed I use on a daily bases.

Mac: 224 Brush
'The dream blending brush'. I believe that to able to wear eyeshadow, you must have a good blending brush. It is the only brush that I would completely say is key when applying apply eyeshadow. You MUST have a good blending brush in order to blend eyeshadow, it makes the difference. I love this brush, and is the only blending brush I use. There are many good blending brushes out there, and there may be one that you prefer! But this one is loved by me :)

Mac: 187 Brush
I use this brush to apply liquid foundation, or blush. The fantastic quality about this brush is the fact it can be used for multiple purposes. This brush will last a long time, and it doesn't shred. It gives a even layer of foundation, and the stippling of the brush gives you a flawless finish. It can give a light coverage or have the ability to be medium and full coverage it is buildable. A cheaper alternative is the stippling brush from ELF. It is £3.75 compared to MAC price of £33.50. I made the choice of buying MAC first because I know it will last much longer, and the quality is a lot better. If you have never tried a stippling brush before I think you should tryfor the ELF brush because it will give y an idea, and if you don't like it then you won't have lost a lot of money.
